Anyone suggest anywhere in central-scotland (pref Edin) that will cut VW keys onto my own blank?

Don't know if Timsons will do it, but I have a friendly contact there. Let me know the details and I'll check.

Edina lock and key on brandon terrace are the best key cutters I have found in Edinburgh. We took a key to timpsons 5 times and they buggered it up each time. Took it to edina perfect first time. Edina also do security keys.

I had a guy on ebay cut one for me after timsons refused in 5 places, send him a photo and he cut it to that, perfect and guaranteed to work.

Bit dodgy but for a couple of quid was worth a shot and paid off.
