who's cracked 200mph?
Discussion
Childish maybe
but I just wondered how many of us have hit the 200mph mark on a speedo?
As much as I love going fast, I have only achieved this once (well a few times but same day in the same car!).
It was a Porsche GB owned 997GT2, lovely car... still on the wish list....
What other experiences do we have out there?

I like the way the fuel needle is blurred because it is dropping so fast
Haha, true. That was taken in my 911 turbo which was my daily commuter from Antwerp to Rotterdam and back. Luckily the company covered my fuel expenses \o/ so it was perfect daily driver.
I drove an Aventador this summer. That thing would have easily broken the 200mph barrier. I dare not post the GoPro footage I have. I'll post the speedo though:

Back end of the A1 going down to Nürburg on the last trip - had the electronic speedo showing 328 km/h for a short while - before getting to close to traffic. At night and alone in the car - not really the right time to whip out the camera phone to document the achievement!!!
Not quite the 200 mph barrier due to the tolerance of the speedo - but the fastest I have ever travelled in a car.

197 mph, I think it would done the magic 2, but an approaching junction, and a truck in lane 1 made me think twice. I backed off and exited the motorway Autobahn.
One day though, but the faster it goes the more stable it feels, just a little bit of aero does its job!
Corrected that for you One day though, but the faster it goes the more stable it feels, just a little bit of aero does its job!

My old Scoob has cracked 200mph on the Vbox at Bruntingthorpe - that must have been very scary - fortunately I was not driving! There is another Scoob that has been clocked at 215mph!!!!!
Seriously? Must have some pretty impressive power to overcome those aerodynamics, especially the 215 figure.MrTickle said:
Mine was a speedo read too, so suspect I didn't make it in reality! But, still a milestone all the same
That has always been a question for me too. The fastest we ever hit in the M6 was 337 indicated, so I am thinking that about 320KM/h is about right. Purely academic in terms of experience though.
