Hi Guys,

I am looking for recomendations on a digital camera which is quick to power up, offers good picture quality, takes good quality photos (for a point and shoot) and has nicely placed buttons and costs around £60-80.

Any help will be much appreciated.

A phone would be best.

Have a look at reviews from somewhere around 2005, then buy what used to be a top of the range P&S second hand.

For 80 notes, a new camera will just frustrate you.

You're absolutely right, but you're giving compact cameras rather more credit than they deserve on the depreciation front!!!

There are plenty of cameras on Ebay at around the OP's budget that were getting very good reviews as late as 2009. Take the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7 as one example. That was £299 rrp in 2009, well reviewed, and now on there for around £85.

The TZ Lumix series are great cameras. My other half has one and I use it when I can't be asked to lug all my DSLR gear around and the picture quality is very good. She has the TZ18.
