968 club sport as a daily driver ?
Discussion
Still one of the best handing cars I've ever driven, extremely capable, well sorted and exploitable chassis.
Would echo earlier comments around the seats but other than that it's probably a more practical daily than many "modern" Porsches.
Finding a good one will be the difficult bit as there are becoming quite highly prized.

A good alternative would be a 944 S2, significantly cheaper than a 968CS but with the same (or similar) chassis, another little known fact is that the S2 is lighter than a 968CS and a well sorted one equally as good on track. Many are suffering from age related issues but there are some well sorted examples out there too, perhaps more suitable as a daily hack if you like the shape and look as it will be less precious but still highly capable.Finding a good one will be the difficult bit as there are becoming quite highly prized.
I drove a sport as a daily for about 4 years and it was fab. And it's the same car. Obviously, most sports have comfort seats, so if you are looking at a cs with buckets, just make sure they are comfortable for you. Or sell them for a fortune!
My 968 was the best long distance car I have ever owned, rented or driven. I think it's mainly due to the great low driving position and the balanced chassis.

Also been using a Sport as a daily driver for the past 13 months and touch wood its been faultless and a lot of fun. There seems to be a lot of crossover between Sports and ClubSports in terms of spec - with many Clubsports quite high spec and non MO30 suspension anti-rollbars and brakes - seems a bit pointless paying the premium for one of these.
As a daily driver I'd suggest a Sport was a better bet simply because lower prices make them less mileage sensitive / less garage jewellery. The Sport is a pretty basic analogue car but certainly benefits from having more than 2 speakers, proper door pulls, electric windows, central locking etc on a daily drive. Also in all honesty they're all quite lardy cars such that a few KG saves are really neither here or there...

Get out there and buy one. Last thing is ........ if you can, buy with the OE race seats if you are going to do distance. Cars are worth a bit more, but race seats were the best long distance seats I've ever sat in. 600 miles in a day and no complaints. Enjoy, lovely cars. You can also dysfunction those guys that tuck their garage Queens up for the winter with pictures like this:

These cars a so much more reliable when used everyday as long as you lift the bonnet every week and stay on top of the fluids, that is an excellent early indicator of any impending issues.
