What bird will you be stuffing for Christmas?

As my first ever post to the cooking part of the forum I wondered what everybody would be doing this Christmas?

Personally as I have a small family I always tend towards a Guinea Fowl. It's sort of like a chicken with a bit more of a game like taste plus the advantage of bigger legs so more dark meat and less breast.

I'm not one for breast. I like the skin and the more greasy bits.

On the other hand, a proper pork joint with crackling might be a good alternative.

Goose ordered, I think we'll be eating it for some days after as there are only us two this year.

Having ribeye steaks this year, just for a change. But with all the normal trimmings you'd have with turkey, i.e. stuffing, roast spuds, sprouts etc.

Turkey; I'm not allowed to do anything else (I cook dinner for my parents).

I suggest goose every year but they won't go for it. Maybe next year I'll just get one and see if they notice

A nice turbot or a sizable lobster should do the trick. All depends on the weather.

If crappy seas, then see what's been shot locally. Game is good for Chrissy lunch.

It'll be curry goat, baked salmon and possibly a roast chicken this year. I might throw in some ackee and saltfish if there are enough people wanting it. Or better yet I'll sweet talk my mum in to making saltfish fritters mmmmmmmmmmmmm. She's going to storm into the kitchen demanding to help anyway.

We eat Ptarmigan for our Christmas Meal.

Ordered my Goose at the weekend. I think I may try cooking the breasts and legs separately this year as its a compromise if not.

We've got roast beef Christmas day and my personally plucked pheasant for boxing day - that gets stuffed with a Granny Smith apple, helps make the most delicious gravy
