I grew up listening to my Dad's Brubeck LPs (great album covers!), and many years later I was lucky enough to see him perform in the UK at the age of 82 (though he played like a man of 20)

An absolute COLOSSUS of composition. What a loss....but 91 is not too shabby for a jazz musician. Many never saw 50!

The album from which it came "Time Out" is a truly fabulous sounding record. Music aficionados always drone on about "Kind of Blue" (recorded in the same studio), but Time Out has always been the superior sounding record.

I saw him at Carnegie Hall in 1989 and it was a real joy and privilege. A true icon of American music.
