I'm planning a visit to London in Jan and fancied trying a couple of Michelin places over the weekend. Does anyone have any experience at Le Gavroche, Petrus, Dinner (Heston Blumenthal), Royal Hospital Road, Ducasse etc? I'm looking for somewhere that feels special as well as has great quality and original food on offer.

Original, has to be Dinner (although I've not been) the rest are basically French.

I was at Alain Ducasse for Lunch on Thursday and it was excellent, the venue is much nicer than GR at Royal Hospital Road and the staff were excellent. Ramsay's food is brilliant but the venue a little disappointing. Gavroche is old school/classical French food and venue. The wife loved it I wasn't so keen.

edit - book now! you might even be a bit late to get good tables at the weekend in top places. We had to book Royal Hospital Road 3 months in advance. Dinner - I don't know but its very popular. AD had space still for a mid-week lunch on Thursday. Gavroche was easier then Ramsay to book but still a couple of months in advance to get a Sat night (even then I could only get the early sitting).
