Help needed-playlist for primary school disco.......

I've got to organise a playlist for a primary school disco....don't ask!
Anyway, I have quite a few pieces of music from things like Pixar films, shrek Disney etc, in my play lists already, and some decent mainstream disco stuff, BUT despite having a 5 yr old daughter, we've not got a lot of 'JLS etc' stuff, but suspect some of the school kids like this drivel!

So I need some recommendations as to what 5 to 11 year olds like, individual songs and artists if pos, I've heard One Direction are popular with th kids, but have no clue about which tracks etc re worth picking up.

So any parents of primary school kids, please ask them for their favourite 'pop songs' and post them up here!! I'll then go shopping on iTunes and pick up some bangin choons so I can be a super cool dad!! We need to fill about 90 mins with music and I have probably 30 to 40 mins so far that's from stuff we have around the house. Even if they are it pop songs as such, but the kids like them, let me know, (wtf is big fish little fish cardboard box all about).

We do have jump Round by house of pain on there already, which if you listen to carefully is a bit rude. Oh and insane in the brain is currently taking up 4 mins!

I did fall short of asking for recommendations along with the child's age, as it is a mixed crowd thr algorythym will be dj ing to!

Probably a mix of classic kids cheese - "Hey Baby" DJ Otzi etc, for which there are kiddie party compilations available, and modern pop - Jessie J, Katy Perry, LMFAO etc

I would recommend going with anything with a good dance beat, vetted for bad language obviously.

Kids like the strangest of music and at that age are open to pretty much anything. My five year old son's current favourites are Lana Del Rey and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - Neither of which I'd recommend for a school disco.

Try some current stuff mixed with M People, Kylie, Madonna, Take That, Spice Girls, Aqua (Barbie Girl) and throw in a few songs with actions such as the Timewarp, I am the music man etc.

I remember "superman" from my school discos (just checked - should have known it was a Black Lace track....) What about James and Sit Down too? Macarena and Whigfield's Saturday Night?

One Direction (shudder) seems popular at the moment.

My boy likes Muse, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Elbow, that probably doesn't help much.

I'd go with party classics and avoid kiddie film based ones, Come on Eileen, disco, Jacko etc.

In my primary school days you could guarantee A Little Respect by Erasure being played..
