I'm owed tax (!) How do I get it?

I got a letter from HMR&C with a heading 'Tax Calculation' Tax year 2011-12 on it.

Long and short of it is it states a 'payable order for this amount has been issued to you seperately'. Does that mean they're sending me a cheque? (sorry for being dumb but I just want to make sure they're not paying me back through work or something?). Only I haven't received anythin yet (probably been nicked from the post!)

Yeh they will send you a cheque. Ive had this in the past

They can pay it into your account also..if they have the details. I got sent a cheque for my latest rebate, but it was in the wrong name ( long story) and I couldnt pay it in obviously.

I sent it back and they arranged a bank transfer about a month later.

They normally arrive a few days later but can be up to a month as they are all issued by one office in Bradford - I would give it 2 weeks and then call to ask what its status is.
