GoPro - what do I need and from where?

The missus keeps asking what I want for Christmas (circa £200) and I'm thinking of a GoPro, but what one? What do I need? Do they come with suction mount for the car and what do I need to mount inside? Are they safe once attached? Also is there any form of remote available to turn off/on at the right moments? Microphone? Are they easy to use and also get/edit video from?

Apologies for the numpty questions but techy stuff is alien to me.
