We pick up my girlfriends new MINI after this happened to her clio a while back:

2012-11-01 by jimmyb156, on Flickr

I think i'm more excited then she is!

Its a Mini ONE is pepper white, MFSW, pepper pack, piano black interior, added chrome bits, basic bluetooth and auto light and mirror.

I will only be insured on it for a week so will probably be doing plenty of driving in the next few days hehe

ill get some pics up once we have collected it, anything to look out for on a new MINI?

Nothing else to add, just thought i'd share my excitement hehe

Hi Jimmy!

That accident in the Clio looks a little nasty. Hope no one was hurt too badly...

Until recently we owned a Mini and Alfa 156 (guessing you drive a 156 by your username?). The Mini is great fun to chuck around - shame you only have insurance for a week.

Unfortunately our 156 was sold on for scrap a few weeks ago.....

Have fun and get photos up... smile

Mike

Hi Mike,

No one seriously injured thank god, stiff and painful neck/back still (weeks after!) etc, but nothing serious! Yeah i drive a 156, lovely thing, think i will be a bit jealous of the MINI though.

yes unfortunately being 24, male and with a few claims in the last three years, it'll cost me too much to go on her insurance properly, so just gunna make use of the 7 days free that MINI offer.

Will get some pics up on when we pick it up at the end of the week biggrin

Surely you could do the occasional drive under your insurance (third party only obviously). Although given your recent accident history your girlfriend may think twice? wink You weren't driving the Clio at the time of the accident?

Our first Mini One was Pepper White (one of the first in the country in that colour and way before all the current trend for recession white cars!) We really enjoyed that car and kept it for nearly seven years before upgrading to a Cooper S. I was really impressed with the ride and handling. A little under powered for my tastes but coped well with everything my g/f wanted at the time.....

The Mini made my 156 feel very wafty and a little disconnected from the road. (mine was Lusso spec though - maybe should have gone for a Veloce??)

@ Pints

What spec have you got? Get some pics up.....

Mike

Admiral (my insurer) Dont offer third party cover 'till you're 25, so i will have to wait until next year. hehe no I wasn't driving! Two of the three claims i have made i wasn't even in the car when they occurred. The other one was completely my fault though.

I've had a quick drive and it feels nippy enough, definitely quicker then her clio, although most things are. It handless so nicely, very sharp and responsive. Interior fit and finish is great too, particularly with piano black inserts and the interior chrome pack biggrin

It definitely feels sharper compared to my 156, which is a Veloce, but rides much better at the same time. The Veloce ride is shocking!

Anyway, some gratuitous MINI pics

One of the few cars that i actually thinks suits White, might help of course that its not quite white.

Nice!

I like the contrasting roof, not an option on the ONE though.

plus due to needing to move quickly to get the car we had to have a car that had already been built and couldn't spec one to our choice. Meant we got quite a good deal though. And tbh there is nothing much i would change, they are lovely little cars!

Really happy with my choice of colour combo. Added the pepper pack, heated windscreen, go-faster stripes, 5-spoke alloys and rear spoiler.
I've already got over a hundred miles on the clock. driving

We'll being knocking on 1000 miles by the end of the month biggrin

Shame i have done very few of those! Hopefully when this insurance gender equality thing comes into force i will be able to be insured on it without rocketing the premium into orbit hehe

Jimmy, what do you think of the RF tyres?
I can't fault them. Apparently the suspension has been designed to take them into consideration, unlike other cars where they're stuck on as an afterthought (especially earlier models from the BMW range).

Our MINI is on 15's, i was told by the sales guy that MINI's didn't come with RF's on 15's, just a can of gunk in the boot. I have to say that i haven't checked! Please correct me if i'm wrong, ill check when i get in tonight!

- looks good muckymotor. I have to say i do like the contrasting roofs, bit jealous of that hehe

What spec did you go for?
