champagne/bubbly recommendations

having got a 60 quid off naked wines from an amazon order i decided to order some bubbly.
having never tasted champagne before apart from once last year when my parents opened a bottle, I wasnt convinced, so decided to give it another chance as that particular bottle might have been hanging around for a few years past its best, I dont think it was a good example, and as loads of people like it and its supposed to a be really good drink.
got my order today and opened a bottle of Brut Rose, A. Simoneau, an the place it was made was Touraine,
the blend was grolleau - gamey.
its the best wine I've ever had, I can drink this without thinking "hmm, this is a bit sour/vinegary/s
t", it was just a brilliant, utterly delicious wine.
OK, I might only have tried about 20 different types of white and a few reds, but still.
what other types of bubbly are really good but not too much on the money front, as I think this was about 10-12 quid

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but what you had was a sparkling Rose from the Loire valley and not a Champagne. On the other hand, who gives a damn what it's called, where it came from, and how much it cost so long as you enjoyed it.
Wine to me is a very individual taste, some people rate Moet very highly, I can't stand the stuff myself. Go and do exactly what you've done, buy a bottle, make a note of the name, grape variety and region and fairly soon you'll see a pattern emerging.

I used to deal with naked wine when I lived in the UK , enterprising outfit with a good delivery service and some good Chilean Sauvignon choices.
To your question, my particular favourite was Pol Roger "White Foil" a N.V. wine but right at the top of the tree for me.

For £10-12 I'd rather be buying good wine than fizz. Most fizz seems to be big on the bubbles and acid and short on flavour (Moet, looking at you...)
I like English fizz generally, Camel Valley or Nyetimber are two award winners (but a bit more than £10). For cheaper and drinkable have a look in Lidl they have some very good value Prosecco.

Don't forget Chapel Down too - always excellent. Along with Nyetimber I much prefer their output over most of the 'budget' Champagnes from the likes of Moet. I'd also agree on the Aldi Prosecco, lovely stuff.

A lot of the French sparkling wine is good - we tend to stock up on Saumur when we're in France.
Buying in the UK I buy Sainsburys Taste the Difference Vintage Cava - it varies in full price from £9.99 to £11.99 per bottle but is often discounted to between £6 and £8 plus if you buy at the right time (ie now) you get an additional 25% if you buy in multiples of 6. My shopping order arrived yesterday
