A friends RHD 928 has thrown up this message. I might add the car is a UK car and this message is unexplained. Google translator says actuator control. Anyone able to translate/ explain better please ? And how to cure/get rid of it !

It actually means "I've now seen your photo and you're much too big. Please stop trying to contact me".

The strange thing is that your mate is seeing this on a 928 when it normally only applies to 911's.

I will venture that the first poster speaks German, whilst the second poster is arguing after typing the meaningless nonsense into Babelfish - the difference shows.

Could it be more like 'reset' than activate? More like 'Set/Activate/Reset Drive Mechanism'? Could that make any sense whatsoever?

Here are your three best sources of info

You may also consider posting to the 928.org.uk email list.

I have a pre-digi dash 928, so I can't help further myself.

I'm a professional translator and I've worked on many Porsche projects. wink

The "ansteuern" is actually a verb in the imperative, i.e. it's telling you to do something rather than telling you the system is doing something.

ETA: It could also be translated as "Initiate actuators". I don't have a 928 and I've never owned one, so I can't be any more specific - sorry. Hope this helps in some way anyway.

If it's a GTS might I suggest a problem with the PSD? Just about the only thing that has electronically controlled actuators and is linked into the CAN as far as I'm aware...

ETA - This might help
