25k mile 944 Turbo Cab
Discussion
Thought that I would share this link here. Was browsing the 944 classifieds when this almost literally lept off the page at me.
I hope some will agree with me that a 944 with under 100k miles is barely run in
So finding such a rare varient of this car with under 30k miles is something quite amazing...To me at least! (apparently 100 rhd turbo cabs?).
Anyway here's the car, rather pretty I must say. Absolutley immaculate (well it would have to be with that mileage
- and at that price!)

This makes it a VERY rare machine.
But £26k? I wonder what they paid for it!!!
Really 11 This makes it a VERY rare machine.

I just think though in my opinion you're paying that money for the low mileage car - not one you can really drive, enjoy and put some mileage on. More for a collecter I guess

To my knowledge there were over 50 in the UK still registered (either taxed or sorn) last year, so I can't see it being 11 left now? Something in the back of my mind remembers 109 turbo cabs being brought to the UK, but I might be wrong as the ad says that was the entire RHD production.I do struggle to understand the price, though. The ad contains no info about the car's condition and recent history, despite a lot of nice details about the model. Low mileage is a lovely thing, and you can't repair or replace it, as is a one-owner history. But, the issues that are causing so many 944s to be scrapped are often age-related, not mileage, so this could be as much a money pit as any scrappy lux in theory? Has it had fuel lines, head gasket, caliper overhaul, timing chain, water pump, any number of potential age-related problems that wouldn't be picked up from the ad. A 944 that's sat unused might well have worse corrosion that a more well-used one, the sills are designed to be dried out by ventilation on the move and long periods with moisture in them is a problem.
Not saying it isn't a great car, it looks fantastic and some delving in to the history file would be interesting. I'd still say it's about double the real value, though. Turbo cabs with that mileage were sub-£15K cars five years or so ago, and there hasn't exactly been a worldwide financial boom since then.....
