Hoping someone can help.

My 11 year old desperately wants an SLR digital camera for Xmas and I have an almost 'unused' Cannon EOS300 35mm camera with a 28 - 80mm lens, and a 70 - 300mm lens.

Question - Is there a digital body that these lens will fit to save us a bit of dosh?

Cheapest cameras seem to be early £300, but if these lens’s can be used it would save us money or get a better body than one purchased for the same money with the len's?

Hoping someone can educate me!

I'm assuming there both canon lenses?

I have a 28-80 that works well on digital bodies.

The 75-300 should work too but isnt the best lens on the planet.

So yes if they are canon EF lenses they will be fine.

28mm will be a bit long on a crop body but fine.

Yes, the EOS 300 was purchased as a 'kit', ie EOS 300 body c/w the 2 lens I have detailed.

Are you saying that there is a digital body (cannon?) that will accept these lens from a 35mm body?

These lens are auto focus, whould that feature still work?

Any Canon eos body should take those and still autofocus.

Yes. Any canon digital body will work with those lenses just like the film body.

I used both the 28-80mm and a 70-300mm lens with my Cannon EOS300 35mm camera. I now have a EOS400D digital camera and both lens function perfectly with the later camera.
