Help! Can anyone recommend a place to eat tonight in or around Ashby de la Zouch please?

Pretty much any sort of (good) food is fine, just needs to not be a dump but not formal or stuffy smile

Thanks thumbup Needed something quick so booked Zemani's which seems to do well on Tripadvisor but The Smisby Arms also sounds well worth a visit next time.

No probs, never tried Zemani's, even though my office is on the same street(!), it is apparently decent though. Only downside is the street might be full of drunken youths on a friday evening.

Ha that's quite funny actually as every time I drive through Ashby I think "What a nice quaint little town" hence deciding to eat there later.

Just a quick thank you for suggesting this place.

We went last night and the food was excellent plus it's a "normal" pub and doesn't pretend to be something it isn't smile

Glad you liked the Smisby, I think it's pretty decent too.

For anyone else looking - The George Inn, as mentioned above, has always been excellent when I've used it for family gatherings. Only about five minutes out of Ashby. Nice little spot and equally unpretentious, but good quality and good food.
