Bugger!!

I've gone and bought a TVR with the money I was saving on buying CD's! No new music for a while it seems!

Alternatives, I imagine that Kazaa will suddenly get a massive influx of users soon...

Sad, sad, sad.... AG i by far the best client on the net....what galls me is that they arent even hosting the music... its like if a bankrobber came up to you in the street and asked you where the nearest Lloyds is and YOU getting busted.
*sigh* but i giess the recording artists have to get paid somehow.
Personally myself I have no guilt over downloading MP3's... after twice having an entire music collection of over 200CD's (about 462 CDs in total in the past 5 years) grow legs and walk out my door with jimmy lightfingers, I believer I've more than paid my dues to the sodding music industry. The long and short of it is that the REAL thieves never got caught
Oh well, cest la vie.... they won't stop me.

Many AG users are going to Filetopia, Blubster and WinMX in that order.

I'm on a lot of music forums, and no one can come to a decision what to use next.
N e one heard "afternapster.com".

Inevitable really.. they come and go.. and I think you can be reasonably assured that another one will be along in the coming months..

I remember when the original Napster shut down and it was quiet for a few months - we thought perhaps it was the end of a short but sweet era for broadband users, but now, p2p file swapping with Kazaa, Morpheus, WinMX etc is monumentally prolific.

Besides which I never saw an advantage to Audiogalaxy over Kazaa..

If you guys are switching to Kazaa can I recommend you get Kazaa-lite instead. No adverts, no bandwidth limits on mp3's and no cheeky programs monitoring your every action either.

Type 'Kazaa Lite' into google and get the download address from there.

Just had a look at that FileTopia site, that looks a bit clever!

Will be waiting for the de-centralised 3.0 client though.

Blimey, that was close, thought I would going to have to pander to the record companies then.

Erm... these peer to peer file sharers are mostly vehicles to introduce spy ware onto your computers. This piggy backed software can be used to do things like gathering simple browse data to build up a nice consumer profile to sell on or to take control of your computer's spare CPU time or the entire machine to carry out DoS attacks etc..

And you thought it was all a blow for internet freedom? Nothing comes free l'm afraid!
Try Kazaarlite which since Kazaars demise has had its spy ware ripped out... BTW l wouldn't trust it regardless.

Doh - as Adeewuff says!

Sorry, but you cannot compare Audiogalaxy to Kazaa. They just arent the same things. In terms of the availability of music, Audiogalaxy was very much Premier league, while Kazaa is very much 3rd division. It has less choice, and the choice it has is lower bitrate.

I had a look at that Blubster client last night, doesnt seem too bad, reminds me very much of the old Napster. I suggest you lot at least have a look at it, could be the next big thing.

Tried WinMX, seemed to have a wide variety of MP3s available, but I couldn't make it download anything.
