Just ordered the New Japanese SACD disc. Hoping it sounds as good as the blurb says it does!!!

I've got it for about £40. Expensive yes but I'm a convert to Digital HD-Audio of any type. Seems only the Japanese really "get it" commercially so prices aren't the best. You can still see what the prices will be like further down the line. I just picked up "War of the Worlds" on SACD for £10. If you want Depeche Mode's "Violator" it's more like £70 at best.

Please update this when you've had a good listen, if possible I'd like a comparison against the normal CD.

Are you intending ripping it or do you have a dedicated SACD player?

Denon DVD2800. Plays DVD-Audio as well. Bought it fro £50 about three years ago.

Sorry for the delay. It was delivered while I was on Holiday and I have a cold as well. Initial listen just confirms my usual impressions. Better Stereo and sound staging. The detail appears to be better and the bass tighter. Looks like "Innuendo" or "The Works" will be next.

Freddie Mercury has been dead for a longer time than the time he was in Queen.

That makes me sad.

It also makes me feel old, as I remember hearing the news that he'd died like it was yesterday.
