Has anyone been and is it worth a visit please?

We're reasonably local but I'd still like to be sure it's not just 50 stalls of slightly different sausage.

I've been a couple of time and really enjoy it.

Everything from wooden toys, hot wine and cold German beers, sausages, cakes, jewellery, clothing, wooly hats. all sorts.
I've never seen it not busy, so they must be doing it right.

Well worth a visit, hot apple brandy, chilli sausages, beer and lots of stuff for women to look at too!

We visit every year but are relatively local. It's a great atmosphere and gets you into the mood for Xmas. Good selection of beer and wine and overpriced sausages.

How far away are you? I would be disappointed if I had driven an hour or more to get there.

What a ridiculous comment.

What would you expect to change on a yearly basis? It's a German market selling German produce!

Perhaps this year they might include Peruvian nose flutes and koala meat sausages just to spice it up a bit.

I was going to pop down the shops this morning but won't bother now, as all they sell is milk, bread, newspapers etc.

Well it should be a change on the year before as going to the same thing is boring ......

Well worth going.

I lived in Brum for 5 years but only discovered it in the last few and didn't miss it after that.

Really good stalls/food/beer and definitley a good start to Christmas.

Went to it last year having never been before. The litre steins were epic and they had jagermeister hot chocolate, what more could you ask for?

Definitely worth going - decent food and plenty of potential presents for Christmas. Bear in mind that prices get slashed the closer to Christmas you get.

+1 to all, definitely worth a visit. Plus I work on Colmore Row so that's lunch (if a little expensive) sorted for the next few weeks! lick

Agree with the positive comments above.

It's better after dark, feels more festive and the crowds begin to thin out as it gets past five.

There's not much variety so the stalls are pretty repetitive. Still, it's nice to sample the booze and food of an evening. The 'crafts' are pretty mediocre, too.
There will be some homegrown suppliers there who have various food and drink related items. Very handy for Christmas gifts.

The only real downside is the public. It's absolutely full of them.

I live 100 yards from the market and have not bothered to go for the last three years.

It's just a load of overpriced tat.

It's expensive and repeated year after year but I still go down every year and have done so for the last 5 years as it's got a good atmosphere there and gets things into the xmas spirit, worth going if you haven't gone before IMO

Well worth a visit. Can often be worth trying to get there in the week though when it's a little quieter.
