I reckon that most of the F1 drivers have now been in the wall this year due to tyre failures, four or five in the last week alone!

Has the development gone too close to the edge - it is ceratinly giving Max Mosely plenty of ammo in his drive to cut performance.

More grooves to decrease grip = more heat build-up --> more chance of failure. No?

The incidents at Spa and the US were largely down to debris. So Schumacher's Monza stack is probably a coincidence.

Do something.....are you mad, it's the only point of interest in the season! Mix crossplies and radials on the same axle I say!!!!

Go back to tyres with no grooves and reduce downforce significantly. Mechanical grip and less focus on aero grip should improve overtaking and incident.

Also snipers at strategic points (e.g. major breaking zones) would liven things up too.

I think the problem is not so much with the tyres but the construction of the cars. They have a "small" nudge and bits of carbonfibre body are all over the place.

Design the cars to survive a 20 mph impact with a lamppost at any point on the body without leaving bits all over the place.
