Opinions of the Scott Voltage FR!

Hello fellow pedal powered PH'ers!

I currently have a kona stinky 08 with some upgrades, it now seems that after trying out friends bikes that mine is pretty damn heavy, its also an XL so is also pretty long and not very maneuverable. I quit like the idea of the Scott Voltage FR, its shorter, lighter and would allow me to run a dropper seat post, its also going to cost me a few hundred extra to buy the frame

I have never ridden one but do others on here have them? What do you guys think of them? What rear shocks are you running, coil or air? I have heard you can get the weights down pretty low on these with both air front and rear.. Honest opinions please!!

They are Epic for the money. I have one. Really playful handling and can take a hell of a lot of stick. Just came back from Antur Stiniog, stuggled down the double black line. but any mini donwhill/freeride bike would, as you really need a full bore 8 inch downhill bike with a slacker angle. Happy to answer any questions.

Great bike. Seriously tough, simple to set up and very stable. Rented one last year in Morzine and loved it. Ragged it down all sorts of rooty hell and joicked it over some ruddy big Chatel river gaps. Solid as a rock!

Awesome! Thanks for the replies. I was at Morzine this summer and saw a lot out there. I felt my Kona was a lead brick and couldn't keep up with my mates (i know, i know, don't blame the tools) however, as soon as I had a go on my mates bikes I felt instantly faster, infinitely more confident etc, not sure why tho! Would be looking to run it with a 7" travel set up front n back but not sure on whether its worth running a rear air shock to keep the weight down. Looking forward to going out there next summer but with a good set up
