Dear PH's,
I recently acquired this lovely lady, it is a 2005 MKII in Spectraflair silver with darkish grey rims (interior portland grey hide with stratus blue carpets), her former number plate was: LX05NHA.
I would be glad if could chat with the former owner(s), learn about their experiences with this machine in order to give her the best treatment she deserves.

I also have an inquiry on the rims, as I need a colour code for future reference and can't seem to find anything in the paperwork, the rims (have a look at the picture, the colour is naturally though a bit darker, I would describe it as darkish grey reflecting different colours depending on light incidence angle), perhaps any of you fellow TVR enthusiasts has the same type of rims or can tell me where to look for a colour code.

Much appreciated!

Best regards, Marc

Congratulations on joining the club, I can't help with the car but your wheels look as if they have been done in "shadow chrome" and depending on who did them it would be very difficult to put a colour code on them. Most companies seem to have their own shade.

Thanx a lot Macey, much appreciated. About the shadow chrome, do you have any names of companies doing that colour these days, I could contact?

Those wheels are definitely shadow chrome and as already stated you'll need to find who did them as the shades can and do vary so much. If you look at the bottom couple of pics on my profile you'll see mine which are the darker side of s/chrome and done by Central TVR. They do however, look fantastioc when all polished up....

OK; thanx for the confirmation Zippee, I first thought of them being anthracite, but as now people seem to recognize them as shadow chrome, I'll look further into that direction. I have very few information omn the former owners though, last owner was italian. I'll have a look at yours too.

That's my ex car.
The wheels were refurbished this summer by my local body shop when they repainted the car.
I'll give them a call on Monday to find out for you what paint code they used for the wheels.

Btw have you already taken delivery of the car?
If you haven't I'd suggest you wait a while. The dealer I sold it to hasn't yet paid for the car in full, and unless he does so by mid next week I will be claiming back ownership of the car.
If you need to contact me drop me a PM and I'll give my phone number.

@Scalper

Getting the paint code for monday would be very helpful, thank you very much for that!

As for the car itself, I am afraid the deal is closed, and the car is at my place. I am bit surprised about what you tell me about your business with the dealer. I hope the both of you can settle your financial dispute, as I have paid for the car in full and I don't see why I should be involved in any kind of litigation.

Hi - I came across this topic pretty late.. I actually owned this car for a couple of years having bought it from and sold it back to Fernhurst TVR.
Shortly afetr I bought it it blew a head gasket (ouch) and subsequently I had the head gasket replaced with a re-engineered unit and later I also had the engine bluprinted and dyno'd so I would expect it to be pretty bulletproof although it did have tendency to spit hoses from time to time.

I also had Gas Gold's fitted (wow what a difference they made) plus numerous other bits and pieces done. I did leave Fernhurst with a large set of receipts which they may/may have not passed on.

All in all the car was an adventure and IMO Spectraflair is one of the best possible colours to have but it did have some intermittent electrical problems with the dash that I never managed to get them to fully sort out.

Happy to share more and glad she's found a good home - I expect she's appreciated in value quite a bit since I sold the car in 2010.. smile
