60th Birthday Pressy

Some suggestions would be appreciated

A good friend of mine is turning 60 next week, and I'd like to buy him something a bit special. Any ideas where is the best (read that as reasonably priced) place to buy a 60 year old bottle of Armagnac
or similar. Other ideas most welcome.

Ironically my brother is 60 on Saturday not your friend is he Anyway, last year I treated my wife to a birthday dinner at The Waterside and afterwards she chose a Cognac and I chose a single malt. I was amazed to see some Cognacs on his trolley over 100 years old! However the sommelier explained that unlike wine spirits do not continue to mature in the bottle, this he explained is because the yeasts etc. are dead unlike those in wines. How true this is I don't know but on the basis that he could have served me a very expensive spirit I assume he had nothing to gain by explaining me this. He said many customers like to buy a birthday Cognac but in fact one should buy simply on taste and not age.
