of demolition man and i robot?all the posts about the new electric steering etc going on and how software stops you doing silly things, how long befor ewe cant drive a car?
we have infrared cruise control with brake assist controlling our distances,we have cars that park themselves for all the fannies out there who cant park, now steering that says "i dont like your input,no i wont do that".the nav systems are getting better everyday and what with hoovers that can go round everyroom of your house with any human direction, how long before we are all just passengers and are likely to be ticketed for driving ourselves and putting others in danger?progress or not i feel everything is all going a bit too "big brother"
personally i hate the newer cars feeling all light and floaty.i like a bit of a heavy steering, clutch and throttle.

I'm afraid its not just cars, its life, its always been that way.
You see no ones gone anywhere and brought anything back from another world, what I mean by that is that since modern man evolved everything they needed to create a Lamborghini Aventador was already here, technology evolved as part of our make up, the majority in the developed world always want something new and (perceived) easier and 'better', or think they do. Its a complex subject but all to do with our way of life and how we all survive in this extremely complex existence we have created.
Weird when you really think about it,
Dinosaurs lived for about 160 million years between the Triassic period (230million years ago) and the Cretaceous period (around 65 Million years ago) and were the dominant vertebrates, this is a time scale you can't even start to imagine but lets say it was a very long time, and what did they do, lived, ate, died, reproduced simple life.
Modern man has been around for about 200, 000 years but has only really done anything truly amazing in the last 200 years. Why are we now the dominat species and why do we do the things we do that have created such a complex existence, in every part of life, interesting isn't it.
So that a long answer to saying I agree with you mostly but you know what nothings going to stop it short of an extinction level event and we all start again.
Crikey that was heavy for a Monday ;-)
