When I lock my GT2 it beeps at me and the car unlocks itself.

I have opened and firmly closed both doors, bonnet and engine cover to ensure all are closed but it is still doing it.

The car is garaged until the weather improves but this is annoying me.

Any ideas?

Glove box or the Centre arm rest lid
Had this once it was the Centre arm rest lid even though it was shut. opened again and a firm shut resolved the prob.

Had this problem with my Boxster and the fault turned out to be a key module head with the rubber membrane over the button that unlocks the rear trunk lid was cracked/wrinkled and this was somehow holding the button down.

How did I know this....Let me think... Oh, I remember now. I stopped staring at the car when this was going on and looked instead at the key. When I locked the car I spotted the usual sequence of LED blinks, heard the car lock up, then spotted another series of LED blinks and the car unlocked itself. I looked at the key closer and and spotted the rubber membrane's condition and used something small to lift the membrane and free the stuck button.

Double beep? If so it is most likely to be one of the microswitches in the door lock assembly. The only way to lock the car is to use the emergency locking procedure. Turn the key to the lock position and back three times in succession.

A diagnostic check with a Porsche tester will show up what is wrong.
