Her indoors wants us to trade down from the RS to a GTS as we need to rationalise the garage and have two cars with four seats!!

What do you think?

There is a nice blue one in Swindon - is that a demonstrator/courtesy car?

Very satisfying daily driver. Perhaps worth avoiding centre-locks if you suffer from wheel change paranoia.

The Swindon car is almost certainly as good as new and quite possibly demonstration miles only. Lovett's are good to deal with. I bought my GTS from them and looking at the age and spec I'd suggest they came off the same boat together. I sold mine four months ago with 10,000 miles on the clock for a higher price than that they are asking. So a bargain. Note it has S PASM (-20mm). Not to everyone's taste but may well be to yours if I recall your previous posts correctly. The stance is just perfect at that height. The view of its hunkered down outside my kitchen window has never been bettered.

Yep - not getting on with the PDK - when it works the car is very efficiently extremely quick - the other 99% of the time it is just annoying!

But you know that! Bottom line is that if I am not working next year - which is possible - it's a lot of equity sitting around unused - so we need to sell one car...

I think you're now old enough to trade up to a Panny GTS.

Plenty of room in one of those.

Smart move. It will be too big for the garage so you can keep the RS. Tell her you are the man of the house and will make the best decisions for your family.

What does your V5 document say? As mine has been registered as a 4 seater (ok its a 996 but)

Have you got a cage? If so, could you;
  • Not remove the cage and place into storage
  • Purchase a carpet with the holes pre-cut for belts/seat (place old carpet into storage)
  • Purchase 2nd hand rear seats
  • Purchase the folding bucket seats - id be tempted down the carbon backed replica's Design911 (think its them)
Job done, you keep your gt3 and then have parts to return to stock should you need to resell it

Hi - you cannot put rear seats into a 997.2 GT3 due to the single skin rear pan.

You could in earlier cars - not this one.

There is a cage in there too!

Just a thought - but if you're not going to be working much next year then that gives you more time to drive the RS thus not wasting it sat in the garage, ergo, getting yer monies worth.
