California Superbike School
Discussion
Couldn’t recommend you going enough!
The guys there are absolutely brilliant, you will learn loads, and look at your bike in a totally different light.
Do read the Twist of The wrist books 1 & 2 before going to the school, it will give you some insight into what the hell they are talking about. But do read them at least twice. If you enjoyed science at school you will do better than if you didn’t
Don’t let that put you off, the course is designed to get your brain thinking, and it does that so well.
Don’t bother with the video, I haven’t heard great reviews
It does have a downside though, you will suddenly start noticing other riders faults, and what’s worse is you will want to tell them why….

It's GREAT........ You'll enjoy it. I always do 2 days the first to get into it and the second to really have a go. Before you realise it you'll be flying round the track thinking "Is this really me riding like Rossi?"
Well maybe not that fast but you know what I mean.
The big thing is when you go out riding with somebody who hasn't done the course and you just breeze past them coming out of a corner because you went into the corner the right way.....Magic...
Good luck and keep us informed of how you get on.

Sounds good. I have read his books and it has certainly helped my riding. I was worried he might be tempted into signing me up to the Church of Scientology.

I would really like to go on one of their advanced handling courses. Where and when are the courses, and how much are they?
Are they the same days as used to be advertised in MCN with Andy Ibbot the instructor? (My memeory is addled as I have given up reading MCN as it is a complete joke)

Yes the books do play with your mind a bit, but you really do notice the difference when you get out on to either the road or track!

You should try advertising with them, charge you a fortune, then usually screw it up! And all you get is a begrudging sorry!!! I hated dealing with them, but they are the market leader and dont they know it

Cali superbike school - think I posted summat on this about 3 weeks ago? - Dave & I did level 1 & 2 in August - fantastic!! bit pricey but if you go with an open mind & work hard to do what they tell you & leave your bad habits at home then it will be money well spent!!
I thought it was good value & I'm happy to have ironed out some of my 'blocks' that were preventing me from progressing.... the instructor:student ratio was good & they really make sure you are practising the classroom stuff on each session out on track....
Thanks for reminding me.... note to self..... 'book level 3 soon'

Indeedy... although after seeing the wheel fall off at Silverstone I'm a little hesitant.....
We've just returned from our Pyrenees/Nogaro trip - 2 days on track were much more fun with fresh tactics in my head.... the virgin sliders have been christened
which I definately put down to the superbike school - because previously I was pegging it & in danger of crashing, I've adjusted my body position & technique & things are going better.
