Sunday run with an elise
Discussion
Went out for a run with a friend yesterday with his elise. Was the first time together so was good to get a gauge of what the noble is capable of and she did pretty well. It was really slippy in the morning so the Nobles extra weight payed dividends but once the roads dried the elise came into its own but not anything like I expected so really impressed with the big Noble. Both of us drive about the same pace on the road with an elise so was really interesting to see what types of corners the Noble proffered and where we would need different lines.
The biggest thing is I loved the drive and came home grinning, just as much fun as any of my elise's so very pleased!
Only upset the whole day was 5 miles from home the throttle decided to jam open!! Not a pleasant experience let me tell you! It slackened off and got me home but need to do some investigation this week.

Craig.
Does your throttle cable run directly above the forward turbo? If so it has not been re-routed to driver's side as per factory suggestions/requirements/recall.The biggest thing is I loved the drive and came home grinning, just as much fun as any of my elise's so very pleased!

Happened to me once on the motorway had to put the car into neutral and quickly switch the ignition off but not fully because of the steering lock and coasted on the hard shoulder, proper skiddies in the undies moment haha. Turned out it was the little rubber piece that stop debris getting down the cable had come loose and then manged to wedge the cable open so check that yours hasnt come loose and then freed up and moved back into place.
Hi Craig , on the early cars the throttle cable was routed over the front turbo and down the tunnel , the heat from the front turbo can melt the throttle cable causing it to stick !! the factory re-routed the cable down the drivers side cill and into the engine bay .
its also worth checking the front downpipe to make sure its wrapped as this can also cause major issues with the throttle cable and the alternator wiring on the front bulkhead .
