959 vs Turbo S Video
Discussion
I thought this was a good enough video which deserved its own post as not many 959's get the close up treatment these days against newer metal.

The 959 never appealed to me. The bulbous body, with too much overhang, undersized wheels, bitza interior, complex systems and horrendous service costs.....
IIRC the 993 Turbo was a better application of much of this technology.
The latest Turbo S is the 'state of the art' two decades on. If I wanted 'character', I'd buy a 964 Turbo.

Ugly! Blasphemy!!
Looks awesome and stilll clearly a very fast car.
Surprised with all the many variations on the 911 theme Porsche produce they haven't done another 959.
A 997 Turbo S with a bit more omph, think GT2 RS with 4 wheel drive and extended 959 esque bodywork.

I think of the 959 as the relatively unsuccessful Dakar rally entry where it did look the part...

I agree the Turbo S is the 'better' car. It should be, its 25 years younger and things have moved on some-what!
But I'd still have the 959, they were built properly, its more interesting, more raw, it's a guarenteed investment and its from an era when Porsche concentrated on quality rather than profit.
