Well, the title could be misleading as it was only for a day but thought I'd share my feedback as I was quite surprised by the Box.

My car needed a new MAF, coffin arm and the GEO sorted as some monkey with a Hunter had set it up pretty poorly and it was tramlining/handling badly. So I dropped the car off at SVP in Droitwich to get it sorted.

Was kindly lent a Boxster S as I wasn't very keen on the Micra courtesy car I had been provided with. Had driven and enjoyed Caymans in the past but never a Boxster. Didn't really like the first boxster but the 987 iteration looks better IMO.

Surprised at how taken I was with the Box! Went well, picked up quickly compared to the 996 but of course lacked the pace once it got going. Tremendously fun in the twisties, not my car so wasn't pushing it but still had the rear twitch a little but all so easy to control! I want to get one for the missus as I think I'd enjoy taking it out. Makes the 996 feel like the GT that it is!

The Boxster I borrowed is currently up for sale and advertised on PH here - http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use... - Good example for anyone who is looking. I've no interest in this car so hope this doesn't contravene any advetising rules, I'm sure a moderator will remove if so, apologies if thats the case.

Got a 987 Boxster S and 996 Turbo.

Think I actually prefer the Boxster... much more "fun" to drive, and you dont have to permanently milk the throttle to ensure your not going over 30!

The 911 is just a power weapon.....

Both serve their purposes!

Haha under normal circumstances I would have but this is my friends car so I respected the fact that thrashing it wouldn't be a good thing to do

We have a 996 Turbo and a 987 Boxster (not S). Both fantastic cars and completely different experiences. There are occasions when the Boxster is the better car. The full performance is more useable day to day.
