Hi Mike, I'm gonna be cheeky and ask you what did you use as a filler neck when you modded your filler to bring it inside the boot, I'm getting my S2 ready for paint at the moment and thought your mod was very elegant and practical so I want to imitate it (sincerest form of flattery and all that)

I was looking around on Ebay for something suitable and the one I came up with (complete with cap) was from a Morris 1000 traveller.
I wanted as small a cap as possible to keep it tucked as tight as possible into the corner.Even so I've had to make a little adaptor bracket to move the spare wheel over about an inch
The diameter is smaller than the TVR filler pipe so a bit of "modification" was required to mate up to the flexible connection pipe onto the tank and a collar fabricated to attach it to the alloy corner plate.

Cheers Mike, thanks for the info, I assume that the diameter of the moggy pipe is smaller than the tvr so I'll have to adapt the fitting in to the tank itself, thanks again.

Plan 2 is to modify the boot lid so it seals on the new lip and cut away the original lip so any dribbles (I get a few at my age) run away down the "rain gutter" for want of a better word. This will keep any spills or fumes outside of the boot.
At the moment I make do with filling very carefully!

Because the neck is now straight the tank does fill a lot easier with far less "frothing back"
