Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me what type exhaust gaskets are to be used on the S1 exhaust system? My exhaust system is made out of thee segments, which use six gaskets in total. Between headers and tubes there could be olives, but after the tubes they kinda look like flat and round gaskets.

I tried to source the gaskets locally, but the exact diameter seems hard to find.

Not familiar with the S1 / 2.8 engine myself but only gaskets on parts list are manifolds to head and, as you say, olives between manifolds and downpipes ?

Hi TVRS1,
The exhaust ports on the 2.8 V6 Cologne heads are unusual because two on each bank are "siamesed" together, so each head has only two ports to each manifold.
Therefore there are 4 head to manifold gaskets altogether, standard Ford items.
The best are the perforated composite type with flame rings, the alternatives are
all- metal with a stamped compressible ring.
Manifold to downpipes are olives as you thought.
I used a small amount of exhaust assembly paste on each part & have had no exhaust leaks since the rebuild.
It's important that the head/ manifold faces are flat & free from pitting or corrosion etc.

ETA Gaskets are 2.8 Capri or Granada, or 2.3 V6Cortina I believe.

'gaskets4classics' is your best bet. I agree with Glen, I used holts fire gum as my manifo;ds are quite corroded, but works like magic (and holds the gaskets nicely in place while you try and get the bolts in!!

Totally agree with the above, mine is an S1. I did find that the studs holding down pipe to manifold were in poor condition, and the lignment to the new stainless down pipes wasnt 100%. I have taken the studs out, enlarged the holes very slightly and fitted stainless socket head screws inserted from the manifold side with double stainless nuts on the underside. An olive with a little paste and it has worked a treat for 3 years now.
