Hi, I've had my Gopro since Xmas last year, it's a standard hd hero1 so nothing special but I'm stuggling with the video editing side of things. I'm in no way good with pc's, I can just about turn it on and play football manager!!
So too my issue, what's the best free editing software to use? I tried mpeg stream clip but it was awful just kept freezing. Also it seems that the file sizes are huge, to upload a 10 minute video to YouTube was going to take 3 hours..., I know that's down to my Internet connection but surely there's a way to compress the files??
I apologise if I sound like a numbskull but I've got a load of videos from track days and days out driving in mpeg4 format and I don't seem to be able to do much with then.
Any help is hugely appreciated.

yeh a friend i work with suggested that, i googled that many video editors last night i totally forgot about the most obvious one.
i'l give it a go tonight and see how it goes. i think the biggest problem is that i need a slightly more modern laptop, my old faithful has been with me for 5 years now and its had some abuse!! may upgrade to a macbook pro and be done with it!

That's really not helping you edit the footage - HD media is really demanding on the pc so a fast machine with lots of RAM is essential if you don't want stuttering and freezing. Can't help with the freebee software as I use Adobe CS5.5 for editing this sort of stuff, the Elements version of Premiere will be more than up to it as long as the lappie can cope.
