Can OPC's arrange for a retro fit a rear cage to a gt3 out of interest ?

Yes, they can - it is an aftermarket option straight out of the tequipment catalogue (assuming that you don't have the wrong seats - if you don't have buckets then they will also have to be changed and it gets so expensive that you would be better off trading your car for a ClubSport).

That wouldn't be an issue. Any idea on costs with harness too?

the tequipment rear roll over bar (£1700+ for 996 @ OPC) which you can fit your harnesses to & simply mounts to the factory rear seatbelt points is thus, i wouldn't really call it a cage.. 996 clubsport cages are £2000++ & 997 clubsport cages are £3000++ from OPC.

Alternatively, Demon Tweeks also supply other good quality harnesses such as Willans for around £160 each.

Both Tequipment cages and Scroth harnesses come up on eBay from time to time. Cages usually go for around £500-600 and harnesses around the £200 mark each. Check the Classifieds on here as there were a pair of Scroth 996 GT3 harnesses for sale by a fellow PHer recently.

Fitting looks fairly reasonable for anyone handy with the spanners. There are videos on other forums showing step by step guides to fitting the cage. Scroth harnesses come with an installation CD.

The other route is a Brey Krause harnes bar and the harnesses. It all depends on the look that you want.

Have you already got buckets in your car then? If so then check underneath and see if there is a bar for the fifth point of the harness under the seats as a Comfort spec with buckets didn't come with these as standard (but a previous owner may have fitted them perhaps), but you can just source them from Brey Krause if they are not there.

JZM can put a OEM cage in for a fraction of the OPC fitted price...do them regularly.

Crumbs. If they cost that I better go down the garage and move the pair I have out of the loft so the mice don't get them.

Wow. I have both the tequipment roll over bar and the clubsport cage gathering dust in my garage. Had forgotten how much they were worth. Must learn how to use eBay....
