This one's good - split pea with crispy bacon/chorizo
Fry up some rough chopped onion, carrot and celery or mushrooms in a glug of olive oil - about 5 mins is right
Add a good load of washed yellow split-peas and some ham or veggie stock. Season well, bring to the boil and simmer for about 45 mins in a covered pan
Use the time to crisp off some bacon and/or chorizo
Use a hand blender to puree the simmering mix and serve over the top of the bacon/chorizo with a good sprinkling of cracked pepper - crispy bread to accompany

Like the sound of this, so will have to try it some time - www.sicilean.com/2011/09/ten-minute-tomato-soup.ht...
I found the interactive soup vids quite good. Definately recomend the tomato, red pepper and pesto.
