Examining last years major service on my gen1 GT3 I see the OPC only mentions changing 6 plugs on the invoice. How can I be sure they did all 12 and what should I do now ? Is there any way at this stage to know the work was done or not, they only charged me for 6 !
Does anyone have a part number for one of these plugs , are they different to C2 and S plugs ?

Urrrr… isn’t a GT3 only 6 cylinder….

Or are you thinking it is a twin plug set up? (ala 993 GT2)

GT3 has one single, lonely plug in each cylinder.

Don't .... I'm feeling for those poor plugs now. All alone, no one to chat too. No one to to rub threads with. :-(

Scoundrels!!

I would get the rest of the car checked, they might have replaced your V12 with a crappy old flat six and stuck it in the boot!

Thanks all, I considered myself an expert but am now publicy humbled. I will eat cake and take 20 lashes from Max and write 200 times GT3 ENGINES DO NOT HAVE 12 PLUGS.

PS, why dont they ?

I suspect the word you are looking for is "humiliated" biggrin

The reason they only need a lonely 6 I would imagine is to do with rather better cylinder head geometry.

  1. As above
  2. 4-valve head (centre is optimum anyway)
  3. Higher energy coil packs?
  4. Greater timing precision?
  5. Improved plug design
  6. ...
