Lumix bridge camera for numpty

Years ago my brother bought a Lumix FZ20 bridge camera. His photos are always very impressive and for £150 it seems like he got a bargain. I want to get a half decent camera myself now and have been looking at the new version of his, the LZ20 ... here for £130

My boss has a Fujifilm version which seems pretty good and is the same price... here.

I am leaning towards the Lumix because I know the brand is well thought of, but could anyone advise one over the other?
