Accident / Traffic Jam yesterday, M25/M26 ???

Does anyone know what the problem was on the M25 yesterday (Sun. 16 June), anti-clockwise at the M25/M26 interchange? We were going out for the day, joining the M25 at J8 Redhill. Stuck in crawling (< 5mph) traffic for 20 miles, getting hotter and hotter until wife felt so unwell we had to return home. (See a post in the Tuscan section for more on the temperature)

Would just like to know what happened if possible.

Possibly due to a load of nutters riding their bikes from London to Brighton. Don't these people have cars!?!?
