What bike? but in reverse
Discussion
So lets start with the bike.

However, I have no need for a fatbike other than 'it looks like it would be fun / cool'. What I do need is a CX bike, which whilst eminently practical does not have the same 'want' factor.
Dilemma.
Solution : reduced price CX bike through contacts at madison, and the fatty on a c2w scheme? can always hand it back..

t to ride. It's like a BMX with off road tyres... um what's the point of it? No suspension?mrmr96 said:

Originally the concept came about for riding on sand or snow. Since then its spread wider as a bit of a fashion thing, with a healthy dose of 'err its great for the uk constant wet mud' thrown in. Suspension is less important when you have that volume of squishy tyre (typical pressures 6-15 psi)

go onto retrobikes. There is a bloke on there and talks non-stop about his fat bikes, he has had a few of them.
i think he has a couple of the surly bikes, ie the Moonlander and some other one, so am sure he could bombard you with tips and views :-). he is friendly enough, i think his ID on there is saltyman
good luck

looks hard as nails but ultimately it doesn't work on or off road very well.
Don't they? Oh... I've only tried one but took it over sand, deep mud and slippery roots (all of which IMO cen be tricky on normal 2" MTB tyres and it was sublime, slower to accelerate- yes but once rolling rolled over almost anything without digging in, sinking or slipping.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
