Virgin 340 emergency landing

Haven't seen this one before. You can't help but laugh at the comment:

tends to happen to planes many times after they are repaired....the fuselage or wing box can take on a twist/bend that is not visible to even the best eyes or measuring devices.

I remember this happening but haven't seen this footage before. Good work by the crew to keep it off the dodgy landing gear until the last moment

I used to work in Building 521, which was the old cargo agents building, which has long since been demolished.
Our office used to over look the runway,, but was being obscured by the BA World Cargo Centre, which I think was still being built at the time.
We knew something was going on by the amount of emergency services flying around, but all we could see was the crash tenders spraying foam.
The first I knew of it being a real incident was when I went home a little later and saw the aircraft with its chutes deployed still sitting on the runway.

I can't remember if I was working that day, but if I was I'd either have been at the British Midland hangar on the eastern side or at T1, so I wouldn't have been able to see it.

I was working that day but I didn't see a thing either.

However, I work 60 miles from LHR.
