Firstly, Hi to everyone on this section of PH. I am about to collect a Boxster 986 on Saturday.
On my ' to do list' is to re finish them from their standard plain condition to a fetching yellow.
My question is.... What paint is best and the correct shade to match the genuine Porsche offering?
I have been looking at Demon Tweaks, Halfords and various e bay offerings and ther is a massive choice, 2 part paint, single aplication, brush, spray etc etc and that's before we get to shades of yellow!!
So, based on actual experience what should I go for for the best results?
Thanks in advance

Based on my previous experience of having them done by so called professionals - re powder coated. I'm now buying new ones. 993 turbo are £1300 for a set of 4, sell old ones for 500 and looking at less than cost of getting them painted.

I am doing mine this week.

I ordered paint from these guys... http://brake-caliper-painting.com

The paint should arrive today. In the meantime I have been preparing them for priming and painting.

I plan to spray them with a 1.2mm nozzle.

There was a `professional restorer` on Channel 4 last week, he just used a 2" paint brush and a pot of paint to do his 911 calipers... Job done! wink
