Thanks to everyone in this forum, I started my S overhaul.
Yesterday, the engine and mission were droped off.

From some months ago, the engine had not revved up quickly.
Because of melted catlyser, catlystic pipe got crog up.

So I will replace catylyer with strait pipe.
And I`m thinking of being lighted flywheel or not.
Anybody use lightend flywheel?
And do you have any advise I shooud when engien is droped off?

Good luck with your project. Your car must be very rare in Japan.

TVR fitted the 2.8 flywheel to the 2.9 engines in the S, which is already fairly light compared to the standard 2.9 one. Therefore I don't think you need to worry about that.

How many miles (or kilometres) has your car done? These engines are quite durable and go beyond 100,000 miles without any major problems. Simple things such as oil leaks from rocker covers or crankshaft seals are worth checking in any case.

Thanks.
I didn`t know that my S uses 2.8 flywheel.
My S is 45000Km.
It has minor trouble as you say oil leak.

I`m looking forward comeback.

It´s a ford engine, so oil leaks are good sign.
If it stops leaking your in trouble wink

I think it's known as a "constant replenishment system"

If you think Fords are bad, I used to have a Royal Enfield .... or Royal Oilfield would have been more appropriate !!!!

Hi JapS
While your engine & gearbox are removed from the car, I would recommend renewing the full clutch plate assembly, unless yours is fairly new.

Also check the engine mounting rubbers, if they are old they distort and sag, allowing the engine to drop lower, causing ground clearance problems with the exhaust downpipes. It is much easier to fit new ( 50mm ) mounts with the engine removed.
I got mine from Burton Performance, not expensive.

Hope you soon have your TVR S on the road, I know you will enjoy it.smile

Regards,
Glen
