Cheapest way of getting Adobe Lightroom 4?

Anyone know the cheapest way to get a new full copy (not upgrade) of LR4?

Quidco do 8% cashback on Adobe's £106.48 download price (oddly its cheaper to get it posted, but I don't have a disc drive on my computer and would rather it come via download.

Is there a cheaper way?

I am a student for the next month or so, so can get a student licence, but believe any future upgrade prices don't apply to students, so it maybe a false economy long term if I wanted LR5 and would need to pay full price.

I bought one, seems to be a unbundled bundled version, if you know what I mean!!! Works fine (and sold by a reputable company)

WEX only give that price when purchasing a camera or printer over £250 at the same time.

I don't have a DVD drive to install from a disc. Does anyone know if I can buy the disc copy and somehow get a licence to use the download version? If it works out cheaper.

I swear it was only £85ish when it was first released, seems to have gone up in price.

Sorry, I didn't see that, I bought mine from them about 3 weeks ago, and that 'penalty' wasn't there then!!!

Why don't you download the trial from Adobe, then buy the cheapest you can find. Yes you will get a CD/DVD, but you should still be able to use the license with the download you have.

A contraversial suggestion but for £85 +VAT at the moment you can get Capture One Pro (usually £2-300), if you just want a good raw converter well worth a look.

With Adobe stuff I always download the trial to make sure it works etc, then buy the package including the disc, then just enter the serial number from the CD case.

My daughter bought LR3 from Software4students - she had to provide Adobe with proof of student status to get an activation code. When LR4 came out she was no longer a student but bought the retail LR4 upgrade and that installed and activated OK.

So you should be able to buy LR4 from Software4Students at £59.95 and use the normal retail-upgrade path in the future.

Thanks, I think I'll do this, it will save me £20 or so then.

I used lightroom 4 on trial before on my old computer and liked it and have a guide for it so would rather stick with it than go for capture one.

I study (well I finished yesterday!) with the Open uni which is usually makes it a pain to prove student status so I'd rather pay a little more for consumer version for ease of use and not risk spending £60 on a student licence I can't use.

It was on a deal for a month or so but I think that offer may have finished at the end of September or thereabouts.
