Sending a post-interview email (is 2 days later too long?)

I had an interview on Monday evening, which I think went well and I liked the interviewers. Normally I would send a thank you email confirming my interest the following day. Unfortunately I got bogged down with work yesterday and didn't get the chance. I'd like to send one, but wonder if at this later stage it looks like a bit of an afterthought. What are your thoughts on it?

Definitely send it. It won't do any harm to put yourself back in their thoughts.

If anything, 2 days later is more effective than the same day, IMO.
