Very part time office admin - how to

I work doing freelance computer software development and I need someone who can work for me for 1 day per month (or maybe 2 half days) in my office doing general office admin tasks, such as ensuring expenses are recorded, sending invoices to clients, sending reminders if these are not paid on time, reviewing services I'm using such as telephones to ensure I'm getting the best deal and ordering stuff, so I can concentrate on work I can bill clients for.
What's the best way to find someone trustworthy and organised who would work on this basis without exposing myself to risks such as being taken to an employment tribunal? Ideally I would like to work with the same person regularly so I don't have to explain things each time. One thing I would be able to possibly do is arrange this at a weekend to accommodate sometime with a full time monday to friday job who wants some extra income.

It will be very tricky to find someone willing to do 2 days/month on a permanent basis. If this just takes 1-2 days a month can't you schedule your workload around this so you can take those days off to sort admin stuff? As you are freelance I'm sure your calendar is flexible to a degree?

Thanks for the reply - Im doing this at the moment, but I would rather take on extra billable work for those days and use the income from this to pay someone to do the admin.purplepolarbear said:

True. I'm sure there's someone willing to do this but you need to be very careful as the person will have access to sensitive information. The suggestion of family member does make sense by the way. Maybe cash in hand to?Perhaps if you detail a little more about how much you are willing to pay, the hours and job description/responsibilities someone on PH will pop along and offer some helpful replies! p/s: I'm a software developer too (mostly databases) and also have dreamt of starting on my own but just never had the guts too :P Maybe one day!
Look at this from a different angle.
If you have a family member who is capable of doing this, do they have to come to you?
Invoicing, chasing payments, looking on the internet for best deals on phone etc. don't actually have to be carried out at your location. OK, processing receipts etc. may be more difficult but you could perhaps still do this yourself, and offload those jobs which are not tied to a particular location.

I believe that some clever entrepreneur has introduced a service whereby paper items such as receipts can be taken from one property to another for a small fee.If you have a family member who is capable of doing this, do they have to come to you?
