Hi there

Could have had this issue for a long time as windows have often being misted up on the inside suggesting something was damp, but carpets have always being dry.

But yesterday I notice what is very wet is the carpet which is part of the door trim, its soaked. But the rubber seal all looks OK.

Is this a common issue, is it the door seal even though it all looks fine, no rips or anything? I've got warranty so not an issue but if I can try an easy fix myself I will as I'd rather not have to leave my car with OPC if I can avoid it due to being so busy with work.

Had the same issue last year, the inner door membranes will need replacing, local OPC relieved me of £600 for the pleasure (I dont have warranty).

I had this on my Boxster and then on my current Cayman.

As has been previously said the door membrane (a foam type sheet) fails at the bottom and water leaks onto the carpeted section of the door bottom.

it's not a difficult fix and if you ask any body shop they'll be able to do it for a fraction of the price.

I think I paid something in the region of £250 all in for mine to be done, the membranes are only about £40 each.

If you look on Rennlist forum i think there might even be a "do it yourself tutorial".

Hi the 997 has a metal membrane with a foam seal around the outer edge that seals against the door, the membrane gets damaged if u try and remove the trim panel without checking if the panel tool is the correct side of it.
