Before my car went for painting I spent a bit of time trying to get the door fits as good as possible, passenger side not too bad but best I could achieve drivers side was front and top good but bottom rear sticking out about 9mm. Time was running out, I wanted the car ready for Spa so it got painted as it was. Don't think mine is unique, seen others like this.

So today finally got around to sorting it. A cut was made from by the lock down round and under the door to very near the front then a second cut, tapering out to about 10mm as it went under the door and narrowing down again as it went to the front. Door card off and a little metal bracket made up that hooked into the bottom of the door skin, the gap pulled closed and then pop riveted to the bottom of the door frame. This held things in place while the fibreglass that went in next cured. A little filler from the outside and now just needs touching in with a small brush.

Yes, those are stainless taper cap heads holding the lock in wink

Clever, very clever.

It does seem a 'characteristic' of our vehicles, but annoying all the same.

Thats ingenious. Maybe we could swop cars for a week or two while you sort the gaps and droop on my door.
See ya in the morning as well Mike.

Mike, I can only agree with the others. I would be more than happy if you wanted to borrow my car for a few months and sort the multitude of issues with it.....

Assuming I could use yours in the mean time of course!!!!!!
