Finally found Optimax in Edinbugh centre. After months of complaining the station on Dalry road has it fitted! Result at last

They catch on slowly don't they! I still have to do a 100 mile round trip to get super U/L in the Highlands! (So I stick to the paraffin they sell at the local - and does my car NOT like that!)

I'm guessing unless you put your sup. U/L in barrels that it will all be used by the time you get home? Where is there super U/L in the highlands? Used to live in Fort William and never saw any there...

Also the Shell next to the Gyle has it & the Dreghorn services say they should have it in the next couple of weeks.
Welcome to the 21st century - Another couple of octane points & we'll be back to good old 5 star! (was it really that long ago?)

cheers,
Craig

What was '5-star'? Never head of it (and I'm 35!)

There is a big Optimax marketing push on in Scotland at the moment - you will see a Ferrari Formula 1 car in some forecourts from time to time.

Think all stations in the cities (are going to) have it.

5 star was if I recall, 100 or 101 Octane leaded fuel, which disappeared around the end of the '70s in UK.
Lots of garages still had the 5 star logos for a while afterwards though.
Will we ever see those heady heights again ?

cheers,
Craig

They had it when I went past this morning.

(avoiding the tail back to the M9 from a Pepsi lorry overturning to the NORTH of the Forth bridge! A colleague then broke down in the middle of the Forth bridge having waited >1 hour to get there!)
