928 alternator

Hi, just bought a 1982 auto that requires a new alternator as bearings have given up. Any suggestions as to where to get one ( preferably reconditioned on an exchange basis) cheaper on US sites but seems ludicrous to have to send mine over there. Any suggestions for the UK? Porscheshop have an exchange program but recent reviews are less than flattering?

All help greatly appreciated with this magnificent but expensive beast to keep the costs down!!!

Yellow pages or on line equivalent & find your local auto electrics specialist. They'll rebuild it for sensible money.
