My car will normally reach 1.2 bar. It does this day in day out. Today I noticed it hit 1.4 bar. Did not get a chance to try again due to traffic. Anyone know why it should jump up .2 of a bar on this occasion. Fault or normal?

It thinks it's a GT2??biggrin

Seriously though, can a remap drift, or a ECU fault?

Mine boosts to 0.8 normally (not remapped) but started going up to 1.2 and wasn't delivring linear power. Turned out to be the diverter valves were past their best, replaced them and it cured the overboosting.

Personally if its regularly running that sort of boost its highly likely to go bang soon even at 1.2 bar..standard tt 0.6/0.7 bar..my chipped one only touched 0.9 and occasionally 1 bar..have you had it seriously modded?

LOL biggrin

This is what I was thinking, can the remap change or do I have a ECU fault or other component fault?

Have not noticed this before

Has been remapped to 1.2 bar and has been like this for just over over 6 years with no issues, so I don't think it is likely to go bang. And I drive it very hard most of the time!

I'll check it tonight on the run home and see if it does it again.

I have just had it back from the workshop yesterday (new water pump fitted), if it does it again I will be speaking to them frown

I think my days must be numbered too... been running 1.2bar using FVD software for nigh on 4 years now yikes

btw, from memory boost control valve is only around 12 quid and is simple enough to replace.

I hope that is the boost control. £12.00 sounds like a bargain and worth a go. Any diagrams to where it is located please smile

Just pulled this from the MAF sensor thread, but it's the grey coloured thing to the right of the y-pipe clipped to the bracket with the narrow red hoses attached

Don't want to alarm you but the 2 speed wobble joint looks properly F'd, my advise is to get it tweaked with an alternative known as the "Zinbad Bladdle siddle" trust me makes a big difference. tongue out
